CMO (Post-Trustfelled)

This is a call-me-out post for Sayaka Maizono; Trustfelled Reincarnation AU edition!
Any and all shenanigans are fine by me; feel free to play fast and loose with the reincarnations themselves, and have fun!
AU Info
- Apartment AU info: A hairdresser; she helps run her family's little salon in another part of town. She takes her work very seriously, but always seems like a bright breath of fresh air who genuinely adores the job she worked hard to obtain. Has a downright absurd collection of stuffed animals and fashion magazines throughout the house, and a surprising amount of wigs in unusual colors. All self dyed, if one brings them up--it's a hobby of hers. Also keeps enough sweets around to kill a man. Does sometimes take requests around the apartment if anyone needs a dye or trim.
- Jojo's Bizzare AU is here!

Chitoge and Sayaka have seen the tourists come and go like the seasons, after spending so many years growing up here, but the lazy atmosphere in the city just gives Chitoge more incentive to spend the day relaxing at the Marvelous Bridge. Much like Nimbasa itself, the bridge is certainly quiet, too, and even the Magikarp salesman decided to take the day off, leaving Chitoge essentially the whole left side of the bridge to herself.
Which is pretty fortunate for her, because Chitoge herself has been having a pretty good day on the fishing front; next to her in a little makeshift pool she made out of an ice cooler on wheels rests her haul for the day, about four pretty huge Magikarp, flopping around and doing their thing. Normally, someone wouldn't consider this a particularly impressive haul, but considering Chitoge's line, a dingy Old Rod that's seen far better days, it can't be helped that she wouldn't catch much else. Besides, Magikarps are all she needs; any Goldeens she manages to catch by chance are thrown right back. It can't be helped, after all; her sister has a soft spot for them, and seeing her face when she brings them in makes the whole thing worth it.
She's not a particularly patient girl, though, so fishing is...well, it can be a bit of a boring hobby, when she doesn't pass the time properly. On a nice day like this, though, it was more than pleasant enough of a way to unwind. She's sitting on the edge of the bridge, with her Sylveon napping in her lap, taking in the sun as it starts to make its way down towards the horizon. And since no one's around (and she made quite sure of that before she started to do this!), she doesn't feel anywhere near as embarrassed as she sings, waiting for her next bite... ]
In my liiiiife, I'm no longer alone now that love in my life is so neaaar... ♫
[ ...She went to go see her sister premiere at Les Misdreavus yesterday, and has had all of the songs stuck in her head ever since. To her credit, though, she's not terrible by any means; good luck getting Chitoge to admit it, but both of the sisters are musically inclined. Unfortunately, Chitoge is incredibly embarrassed of it, despite Sayaka's frequent attempts to rope her into performing alongside her, so it's a good thing no one's around to hear her embarrass herself while she sings show tunes alone on this bridge, right?
...Right? ]
no subject
When Sayaka wakes up, she's not entirely surprised to find that Chitoge's left--even if the day was slow, she knew Chitoge couldn't just sit around and do nothing. She checked the usual places first once she noticed--she couldn't not, being a doting sister--but the one place she hadn't checked was probably going to require more than a simple thanks.
And so, Sayaka makes something to eat to take with her--something as a thanks for everything. Trusting her darling Espeon to make sure Mawile didn't tear the house apart while she was gone, she decided to take Gardevoir with her on a little field trip to the Marvelous Bridge. It wouldn't be too long, at least--Gardevoir protected her from any Pokemon that would scamper by, trying to get the food while she went there (as much as he made it seem like a chore), and by the time she makes it to the bridge...
She's surprised to hear singing. And especially surprised to see who it's coming from--she knew her sister's voice was super cute and she wanted her to perform with her one day, but wow. Sayaka would've been content to simply hear this for a while. She wants so badly to go over there and clap for her! Because she's just! So! Good!
...Unfortunately, Gardevoir doesn't necessarily have the same level of patience and gets an idea, slipping the container out of Sayaka's hands--and before she even knows it, he Teleports over behind Chitoge with a bit of a grin...and a small sound that's his equivalent of a 'Boo!']
Gardevoir, get back heeeeeere!
[...Looks like her little concert's gonna be put to a small stop for the time being, oops. Sayaka's running up as fast as she can while Gardevoir just starts laughing like hell.]
Chitogeeeeee, I'm so, so sorry about this!
no subject
[ To Gardevoir's credit, Chitoge made it pretty far along before the poor Pokemon had enough and decided to play its little prank. She had thought she was alone, but the sudden appearance of the big troublemaker manages to spook her so much that she drops her fishing rod and jumps backwards! At least the Magikarps are safe, but the rod is inches away from falling straight into the water...
It takes her a bit to process that the Pokemon that practically shaved five years off her life by startling her like that is actually her sister's, and honestly, that might just make her even more flustered. The shock's gone, but now she can't help but feel totally humiliated--she's been singing for so long, just how much did she hear?! ]
S-S-Sis! U-um, what a surprise, ehehe...
[ Maybe she didn't hear anything? Unlikely, but... ]
Y-you don't have to apologize, he just, uh, scared me half to death, is all...
[ Geez, Gardevoir, are you sure you're not a Ghost type or something... ]
no subject
[...that only manages to get a laugh from the haughty Gardevoir, clearly turning his head away. Sayaka pouts in annoyance--but Gardevoir uses his psychic power to bring the fishing rod back so it won't fall in, and places the container down next to Chitoge.
...It's almost as if he's expecting something when he goes back to look at Sayaka, before she sighs.]
That isn't quite an apology, Gardevoir...but it's the most you're going to do, I'm guessing. [A titter from the Pokemon confirms it, and Sayaka shakes her head, calling out before returning him.] Gardevoir, return...
[...Well. With that taken care of, Sayaka walks a little closer.]
No, he's...just a nuisance. Honestly, I was really enjoying your little concert over here before he had to come and ruin it--I've never heard a more beautiful singing voice in my life!
no subject
More importantly, though, knowing that Sayaka heard her singing just makes get even more flustered, if that was even possible. She knew it, but, it's a different story actually hearing it from her mouth...]
Sayaka, nooo, I told you, I sound awful!
[ sob..... ]
Seriously, you're only saying that because we're related! You sound way, way, way better than I do! You're the one who's the superstar, after all! You're the musical one here...
Besides, that's not important at all! Look, I managed to get you a good bunch today!
[ She says as she rolls the tub on wheels back over so Sayaka can see her catches; they seem pretty ordinary as far as Magikarps go to her, but, well, she knows Sayaka has a way of seeing into their souls, or something like that. ]
They're all yours!
no subject
[--but then she rolls the tub toward her and four perfect babies are there. Sayaka practically squeals with delight.]
Aaaaaaaaah, look at these cuties!! Their scales, their fins--they all look so healthy! These little guys must have been living a very good life...don't worry, you guys, I'm gonna take the best care of you! I promise, promise, promise!
[Sayaka sticks her hand in the water, letting the little guys examine her with a smile.]
Oh, you're so sweet to me! These little guys are so cute--and they're all boys, too! Look at their little yellow whiskers, they're all so cute, cute, cute! And so sweet looking...
I think I get why they're so sweet, though! It's because you serenaded them, huh?
no subject
And, on top of that, they all take an instant liking to her, too. She must have some kind of secret talent... ]
One or two of them tried to put up a bit of a fight, but they were no match for my expert fishing skills! ...And, they calmed down a bit once I told them that they'd be going to a good home.
[ It's true; though some of them make a bit of a fuss when Chitoge tries to reel them in, she tends to have a way of getting them to calm down! ]
Besides, you love them so much, seeing your face every time I show you new friends makes it worth it every time, so...I'm glad you like them. They're not usually this big, so they've probably been eating well down there...
[ As sad as it is to say, it's probably because of the lack of people coming and going, more than anything. People tend to litter off the bridge, and that messes with their whole diets...
Still, though, that last bit...it was asking too much to have Sayaka drop it entirely... ]
Look, that's not true, they stopped coming when I started singing. That's a sign, isn't it? If it was you here instead of me, then they'd all come flocking right to you, but because I sound like a Toxicroak, they all run away...
no subject
And she couldn't be prouder.]
It really is a wonder that one hasn't decided to take to you! You're pretty much a natural at this yourself...the only time I tried, I had to get the line fixed because a Goldeen got particularly mean...
[Rest in pieces, her allowance money.]
It might be the change in seasons...or maybe the people on the bridge finally started to get on people who toss their garbage down there. It's about time, you know? I'm sure they wouldn't want to eat wrappers and paper...
[That last bit, though, ohhhhh she is not letting this go--]
Chitogeeeeeeee, stop saying that! Come ooooon, you're a total Meloetta when you get right down to it! They were probably enjoying a nice meal with their music, which is why they didn't jump out, you silly. Am I gonna have to pinch your cheeks to get you to admit it and come on stage with me?
no subject
[ Not very likely. Geez, though, Chitoge can't help but wonder what Gyarados would be like if everyone raised their Magikarp like Sayaka does. She's just too precious... ]
Goldeen can be pretty nasty, though, you're right. Whenever one of those jumps on the line, I usually just let them have whatever kind of bait I stuck on. Magikarp are usually different, though. I think their flopping kind of has a rhythm to it...they fight for a little while, and then they tucker themselves out and get sleepy, and if you keep going like that for a while you catch them in no time...I'll show you next time I get a bite. Then maybe we can try to fish together and they can hear what a real singer sounds like.
[ She just gives her a chuckle at that...until Sayaka threatens to pinch her cheeks, because god damn, she is not about that life-- ]
If they really wanted dinner and a show, they should have swam out to Nimbasa to come see you last night, superstar. I know I told you a billion times yesterday, but you were awesome out there...how the heck can I go on stage with you when there's clearly such a huge gap there? I'll totally drag you down, and Mawile'll be upset with me and everything...
no subject
[They would be the hugest, slobberiest lap serpents. ...Or at least attempted lap serpents. Do you know how hard it is to tell a Gyarados that they can't sleep on your lap anymore it is torture.]
Gah, don't remind me...I still don't like them very much, everything considered. They're such pretty things, but I've never seen ones that are so mean in my life! I think even Carvahna are nicer than the Goldeen on this bridge. But...I definitely think I'd like to see that. Just don't forget to eat your lunch, okay? I made something special!
[That last bit gets Sayaka to roll her eyes, though, and she'll take a seat herself.]
Oh, please. Mawile gets upset by anything that isn't a plaything of hers, or that isn't her food dish being filled with the most sour things known to man. [Her starter is such a finicky shit. Arceus bless her.] And you know darn well that's just because you haven't even given it a try! You can be totally honest with me, you know...if you're scared of the crowd. Because I bet you would shine on the stage, if you let yourself.
no subject
[ But Gyarados are so huge, it's a wonder that Sayaka is even able to keep them held on her legs for so long? Especially considering Sayaka's legs are so skinny, like, what the actual hell- ]
Seaking doesn't seem much better either, honestly. The horn is a bit much, and like...no offense to it, but, there are so much prettier and cooler fish out there?
[ Oof. Sorry, Seaking. But that comment makes her remember the container that Gardevoir gave to her, and... ]
Ugh, you're the best you know that? Your lunches blow mine out of the water, I swear...
[ Let's see what we've got today, and if we can share some; it'd be awful if Sayaka worked so hard on a lunch for her and didn't get to eat any of it herself... ]
It's not that I'm scared, though! It's just...I mean, look, it's a lot of pressure, isn't it? All those lines, and having to sing just right, in front of all those people, and...
...Okay, maybe I am a teeny bit nervous to try it. I just don't wanna mess up, you know? Especially if you're there. Last thing I'd wanna do is embarrass you while you're doing something you love so much...
no subject
[It takes a lot of training. It's such a good thing that her Gyarados aren't that violent because good lord, she could only imagine...]
There really are! And friendlier, too. I thought I saw someone a month or so ago with a prettier one...really pretty, blue and dark blue? But with pink eyes, and it looked like it had pretty wings on it's head...they don't hold a candle to my little cuties, though!
[Sayaka flashes a smile at Chitoge when she comments about lunch, though--she did her best to make some curry and rice, since she doubted that a bowl of ramen would have traveled well over to the bridge. She's hoping the scent won't attract any interloopers either, but Sayaka pets the Magikarp idly while she speaks.]
Well, of course it's pressure--that's what hard work is all about, you know? It means that you have to try your hardest to succeed, even when you're afraid to mess up. I totally didn't have it when I first tried it out--I'm pretty sure everyone remembers that flubbing pretty well...
[Back when Mawile was even unrulier. Ugh. She remembers that like it were yesterday.]
Why don't you try thinking about it the same way you think about your Subway matches? You're always so fiery and spirited there, even if there are people watching on the line. I'd just really, really love to perform with my dearest sister, you know...it'd mean the world and more.
[Sayaka beams.] Maybe we could perform with Milotic, since she's so comfortable with us both?
no subject
[ The name seems to rouse her Sylveon up from its nap (surprising, really, how all the commotion from before and it didn't even stir), Chitoge, of course, notices right away and scoops her up to let her rest on her shoulder... ]
It's pretty beautiful, but the prettiest fish Pokemon of all is still Milotic, bar none! But that's just because of all the work you put in to bringing it out...
[ Oh, fuck yes, curry over rice, and it smells divine. That's one thing about Sayaka's meals; Chitoge couldn't top them if she tried. They always have a way of ending up coming out just right, with that sort of homey quality to them that you can't quite match elsewhere...she doesn't know if her sister puts any special ingredients into her recipes or anything, but they have a way of feeling like they're practically bursting with love.
That much is evident from the first spoonful. Holy shit, Sis. ]
And I still think you're being too hard on yourself with that...
[ Chitoge, for God's sake, don't talk with your mouth full of rice..... ]
For your first time, I thought you did more than just fine. Besides, look at how far you've come since then...you're like a Pokemon Musical genius now! And if you got up there with an amateur like me, I'd hold you back, 100 percent. If I ruined your reputation or something, I don't think I'd be able to forgive myself.
[ But hearing her sister put it that way...fuck, she's such a pushover, when it comes to Sayaka. This is something she's been unflinching on for a while, but, she has such a hard time saying no to her...Sayaka knows just how to push Chitoge's buttons. ]
Don't get me wrong, you're totally right about the Subway, though, because when I'm battling I'm so in the zone it's like there isn't even a crowd to begin with...
no subject
[Sayaka sighs, dreamily, but watches Chitoge's reaction to the lunch out of the corner of her eye. She always loved making stuff for her sister--seeing her reactions always had a way of making it feel worthwhile. The comment with her mouth full gets her to grimace--not just because she holds herself to such high standards, but--]
Swallow before you talk, sis. You're not a Tepig.
[Even so, though...]
Then come with me to practice sometime! Pretty please? [Sayaka clasps her hands together, giving her best pleading look. Complete with fake sniffles.] I-I just wanna perform with the best sister known to the world! I think if you put as much dedication into this as you put into one day beating Ingo and Emmet, you'll absolutely shine on the stage?
Pleaaaaaaaase?
no subject
And if you don't want me to talk with my mouth full, don't make such good food and expect me to keep having a conversation with you! Hmph!
[ It's got a bit of a kick to it, though, so she'll let it cool off a little bit; she was so eager to get those first few bites in that she almost didn't realize...
But when she puts her container aside, she looks up to see Sayaka, with that face, and those eyes... ]
D-don't do that, you know I can't say no to that goddamn face...
[ ...But what's the worst that can happen? It's just a practice, it's not like it's an actual show... ]
...
.........
When's your next practice?
no subject
[Sayaka pouts a bit at the comment, but then...]
...Really?
[Sayaka's face slowly starts to light up at the realization. Her sister was finally budging on the issue. Her sister was actually going to take a chance with this and let her teach her. They could possibly perform a duet.
...She looks like she's about to cry tears of joy.]
T--Tuesday afternoon until the evening! We're gonna start getting ready for the winter show, so it'll be an entirely fresh sequence--it'll give you the best kind of experience over all!
[Legitimate sniffles.]
Would you really like to come with me, then?
no subject
Listen, I-I didn't say I was definitely in, all I asked was when your next practice was! Don't go looking too much into it!
[ She actually sounds pretty flustered over this, and it'd look a lot less silly if she didn't have a stray bit of curry on her cheek. But she can't keep up that fiery facade for very long, because Sayaka starts sniffling, and...fuck. When it comes to her sister, she's the biggest goddamn pushover. And she thought she finally had her on this one; Sayaka had begged and pleaded with her so many times, after all, but she was set on not doing it...
So much for having that leg up on her. ...Chitoge's still feeling kind of iffy about it, but, again, it's just a practice, and an entirely new show, too. If there was any time to get started with it, it'd probably be now. And while Chitoge still thinks she sounds like a Politoed that got hit by a Thunder Wave... ]
I-I'll think about it, alright?
[ Sayaka should know by now, though, from years upon years of pushing her into doing something. Chitoge's "maybe," about 90 percent of the time, is a "yes".
And if the person asking is Sayaka, it usually bumps up to about 110 percent. ]
no subject
[There's that fire--one that could rival a Houndoom's in sheer intensity and lasting impression. If it were any other time, Sayaka might have relented there--her sister was not someone to be messed with when she had that fire flowing through her system. Sayaka knew it was a front, most of the time, but...well, habits die hard.
Still, hearing that last bit...her expression goes from that dull shock to a gentle smile. She finally did it. She may have finally done it unless Chitoge gets cold feet--she hadn't even managed a maybe in so long, so maybe it'll be the chance.]
...Please do. I look forward to hearing about your choice. I'm just so happy you aren't just rebuffing it for once...
[She goes to wipe her eyes.]
Thank you.
no subject
Her sister really has been getting better at this, hasn't she...good grief. It's a good thing that ribbon she keeps on her wrist can basically be a handkerchief if need be, so she can prematurely stop the waterworks and wipe the tears off her sister's face... ]
You always did say you were gonna get me to do it eventually. Maybe it was just time.
[ Or maybe you're just a goddamn sap, Chitoge-- ]
...If I knew you'd start sobbing over it, I probably would've relented a lot sooner.
no subject
Then let it be known that on this day, I maybe finally got you to relent! Ha-ha!
[Sayaka loses any and all smugness, though, after a few moments.]
I've honestly just wanted us both to do a Musical together for a while now. I thought it'd be a really fun way for us to bond--even more than the Subway when I can convince Oricorio or Gardevoir to cooperate for the sake of getting us as far as we can. And I don't like it when you put yourself down so hard.
[...her look goes mischievous though.]
So, does that mean if we go to Alola again and I tear up enough, you'll finally let me have one of those trees?
no subject
[ This is pretty natural, though; whenever Sayaka cried for any reason, the person to try and comfort her was always Chitoge. Even though Chitoge can be a little rough around the edges, Heaven help whoever or whatever would make Sayaka come home in tears. ]
What, though, are you saying we don't bond enough, after all we've been through, Sis? I'm so hurt, really!
[ If she's really hurt, though, it's not apparent on her face, because she's actually got a pretty big grin on her face... ]
Look, if you can figure out a place to put the damn thing without having it put a roof in the ceiling, maybe I'll let you have one. Good luck running that one by Mom and Dad, though...
no subject
[...that was the most overly dramatic thing, complete with posing. While sitting. Flourishing, hand poses, the whole nine yards. Every exclaimation came with a new pose, before she dramatically 'faints' at the decree.
Never let it be said that Sayaka is not passionate. Though she does get up from her dramatic fainting to look at Chitoge with a bit of a pout.]
Oh, come on! Those trees are just so big, but they're the absolute cutest things I've seen! Not even you can deny that. Buuuuut fine. You guys better let me play with them if we see 'em again, though!
no subject
[ Chitoge can't help but sigh when her sister "faints," but she's definitely giggling...and, hell, she'll play along and catch her, too.
At least Sylveon seems to be enjoying the show. ]
You're such a goddamn dork, I swear...but fine, if that's a royal decree, then I guess I can't argue with that, Your Majesty. ...And by that, I mean you're a total drama queen.
...But I didn't say no. I wouldn't mind if you brought one home, but I'm just saying, you know how tall they are. ...Maybe if you make it worth my while, I'll help you beg Dad to let you bring one back home. But it's gotta be big. My skills at buttering him up don't come cheap...
no subject
[She does take a moment to blow a raspberry right at Chitoge though, with the biggest grin. This is why her sister is the best, as far as she's concerned.]
If I'm a dork, then you're a super dork. I'll take the drama queen bit, though--it still has queen in it, so I guess I can accept it. Only from you, though.
[...Oh? Sayaka's expression shifts a bit and she puts a hand in front of her mouth.]
Make it worth your while? That's a tall order...maybe a month's supply of miso? Maybe some cheesecake from that cute little bakery...or perhaps...
Would you like me to play matchmaker? [Sayaka giggles.] Gotta admit, that's a tall order for this time of year, but I'll gladly do my best to snap you up a cute one!
